Biophilia
feat. D. Parks and G. PerezWorks on rock, wood and metal
@Doublespace: August 30th - September 7th
Duncan Parks and George P. Perez present a
domestic setting depicting commonalities
borrowed from general landscaping. Parks and
Perez collaborated to alter the significance of
decorative rocks by water etching an image of
Yellowstone. Parks explores the relationship
between the physical and digitals realms
in his studio practice and looks at the
translation/distortion between them. Perez
gravitates towards the cultural practice in
photography and how that relates to everyday
aspects we look over. Biophilia is meant to be
familiar yet absurd by presenting an exterior
yardscape and pumping out a comfortable,
refreshing piece of air.
